Aspasia shuddered as she thought of yesterday. A farmer had told her that she was now his daughter. He'd beaten her like no tomorrow. Hadn't he heard of the saying honey works better than thorns of whatever it was. No, that's right. Honey is sweeter than, lemons? Whatever it was he didn't believe in it. She didn't mind hard work but she hated Corporal punishment. A little whack was all right but he had really hit her.
